According to Eurasian Bank data, July marked the peak of outbound travel activity over the past 12 months, recording the highest volume of transactions across airline tickets, hotels, car rentals, and travel services. Citizens of Kazakhstan are traveling en masse, and as a rule, following meticulously pre-planned itineraries.
The average international transaction value for a Kazakhstani traveler stands at 53,236 tenge. In terms of transaction volume, Ireland, Turkey, and the United States lead the pack as the top three destinations where Kazakhstanis swipe their cards most frequently, followed closely by Spain and Italy.
However, the most premium purchases take place in entirely different locations. Saint Barthélemy (an overseas collectivity of France on a Caribbean Island of the same name) ranks first in average transaction value, with the average ticket size exceeding 1.18 million tenge. Guadeloupe (a French overseas region and archipelago in the Caribbean) follows in second place at 1.17 million tenge, while Anguilla (a self-governing British overseas territory) takes third with an average transaction of 931,878 tenge.
When looking at total aggregate spending, the landscape shifts. Over the past 12 months, Kazakhstanis have left the most money in France, totaling over 6 billion tenge. Italy secures the second spot with 4.9 billion tenge, and the UAE ranks third with 4.7 billion tenge.
This data clearly indicates that the travel geography of Kazakhstanis is becoming increasingly diverse, spanning from traditional hotspots like Turkey to exotic destinations like Saint Barthélemy. With an overall average check of 53,236 tenge, travelers are customizing their vacation formats - ranging from budget-friendly trips to ultra-luxury getaways.
