In the West Kazakhstan Region, a 25-year-old man suspected of a series of frauds was detained. For two years, he deceived residents of the West Kazakhstan and Mangystau Regions, offering “profitable” deals – from buying machinery and vehicles to cashing out consumer loans, Eurasian Bank reports with reference to Polisia.kz.

In October 2023, the fraudster seized 4 million tenge, posing as an assistant in the process of cashing out a consumer loan from a resident of Uralsk. In the period from April to October of the same year, he also deceived another local resident, promising to provide household technics worth more than 4.5 million tenge.

The victims of the criminal were not only strangers, but also his own acquaintances. At the moment, he is charged with 14 counts of fraud, and the total amount of damage exceeds 78 million tenge.
The man was placed in a temporary detention facility, where he admitted his guilt. According to him, he spent most of the stolen funds on betting. The investigation of the case is ongoing.

Eurasian Bank urges citizens to be especially careful when making financial transactions and interacting with strangers. Before making deals, especially online, make sure they are reliable. Do not hesitate to check the information about the company or person with whom you plan to conduct a transaction.
If someone promises you quick and easy money, it’s most likely a scam.
