In Almaty as a result of the joint efforts of the City Prosecutor’s Office, employees of the Department of the National Security Committee (DNSC), as well as major telecommunication operators Kazakhtelecom JSC and Kcell JSC, and a suspect in organizing fraudulent calls was detained.

During the search, two SIM boxes were seized from the detainee, one of which contained 32 SIM card slots used to switch numbers and make fraudulent calls. A large number of SIM cards of various telecommunication operators, used to organize fraudulent activities, were also found.

This case was a continuation of the work that began in November 2024, when the Almaty Prosecutor’s Office, Kazakhtelecom JSC and Kcell JSC signed a memorandum of cooperation in combating fraudulent calls. Last year, 14 SIM box machines were eliminated through joint efforts, which made a significant contribution to ensuring the safety of citizens.
