Eurasian Bank received the PLUS Award in The Best ESG Initiative in Finance nomination for the issue and promotion of Eco-Card made of recycled plastic, which gives every Kazakhstan citizen the opportunity to support landscaping and garbage sorting in the country by paying for purchases. The card has been issued since 2021 jointly with Mastercard.

The award ceremony took place at the Fintech Without Borders Digital Eurasia PLUS Forum in Almaty on 17 October.

“We are very proud that together with our customers and our partner Mastercard we participate in greening cities, in the formation of healthy eco-habits among Kazakhstanis. And it is very pleasant that these ESG initiatives of the Bank are highly appreciated in the professional community,” said Lyazzat Satiyeva, CEO of Eurasian Bank.

The PLUS Award is awarded for the first time and aims to identify and demonstrate to the market the best cases that are examples of high achievements in the field of fintech, non-cash and cash circulation, payment business, creation and implementation of payment services and products. The initiative is aimed at drawing attention to the most innovative, socially significant and efficient projects and thus providing them with broad information support.

“The Organizing Committee of the award received more than 50 applications in 11 nominations from banks and companies from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and the UK. I heartily congratulate the winners of the PLUS Award 2023,” Alexander Grizov, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Fintech Without Borders. Digital Eurasia PLUS Forum, said in his welcoming speech.

The victory in The Best ESG Initiative in Finance nomination was a recognition of the consistent and efficient actions of Eurasian Bank in supporting public initiatives in the field of ecology and sustainable development.
