Children’s Golf Academy Training Building Opened in Almaty
The Children’s Golf Academy opened its own training center, a modern space that allows young athletes to practice all year round. The Project was implemented by the Kazakhstan Golf Federation with the support of Eurasian Bank.
“The path in golf, as in any professional sport, is very long. Children should train systematically and constantly. We used to train indoors in other clubs in winter, but now we have the opportunity to train right here in the new academy building,” said Iliya Svidenko, Head of the Zhailjau Golf Academy.
The opening of its own training building has become an important stage in the development of the Academy, which has been operating since 2023. During this time, more than 380 children aged 7 to 15 years have been trained.
In Almaty, young athletes’ training costs 40, 000 tenge per month – this amount includes the work of coaches and sports equipment. It is also important that children with special educational needs train for free.
Today, about 100 children are training at the Academy. Among them are the winners and prize-winners of international tournaments.
“We see golf becoming closer to both children and parents. It is important for us to support initiatives where sport begins in childhood, where there is constant training, mentors and results. It’s about development, which really makes sense,” said Aygul Aristanbekova, Eurasian Bank Private Banking Managing Director.
In honor of the opening of the training center, the Zhailjau Charity Open Tournament for children was held, which was attended by about 90 young players. For some, it was their debut on the field, while others have already demonstrated their experience and confidence. While some competed, others participated in master classes, tried their hand at golf and received prizes in interactive zones.
Eurasian Bank has been cooperating with the Kazakhstan Golf Federation for many years, participating in the implementation of educational and infrastructure projects in the field of children’s sports.
The young golfers have a busy sports season ahead, including participation in national and international tournaments. Upcoming events include the Kazakhstan Championship, competitions in Kostanay, Borovoye and an international tournament in August, as well as an exit tour to Uzbekistan.
