2 May 2020, Almaty, – On 30 April, the Agency Moody’s Investors Service international credit rating (Moody’s) maintained the Eurasian Bank rating at B2 and the basic credit rating of b3. The outlook for the Bank’s long-term transactions in national and foreign currencies was reduced to “negative” following the deterioration of the overall outlook for the banking sector and the economy of Kazakhstan.

“For us, an important result was the confirmation of the rating based on the Bank’s successful business indicators. As a result, we have accumulated sufficient liquidity to support our customers and meet our obligations even in a complex operating environment. The deterioration of the long-term forecast was expected due to a similar reduction in rating outlooks for the entire banking sector of Kazakhstan and the CIS during the overall economic downturn and the coronavirus pandemic,” comments Valentin Morozov, CEO of the Bank.

The credit-rating agency noted as a positive factor the recent injection of capital by the shareholder of the Bank, as well as participation in the state program on financial sustainability enhancement and risk reduction of the banking sector, which will allow the Bank to better withstand possible economic and financial challenges in the near future.
