In Russia, a seven-year-old girl applied for loans to her parents on the instructions of fraudsters.

The incident happened in Tomsk, scammers deceived a first-grader thanks to a popular online game. The girl thought that she was trying to earn game currency and, at the direction of scammers, issued several loans to her parents for almost 500 thousand rubles – about 2.5 million tenge.

“The mother of a seven-year-old girl filed a complaint with law enforcement agencies, the woman said that her daughter had been deceived by scammers. It turned out that the child was playing a popular online game. She received a message in one of the messengers that she had earned game currency,” the Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Tomsk Region said.

The attackers convinced the child that she needed to take pictures of her parents’ phones in order to win. Acting according to the instructions, the girl issued online loans and transferred money to the scammers.
