Eurasian Bank warns customers about new online fraud schemes and urges them to exercise increased caution in financial transactions.

Among the most common schemes are “erroneous” transfers.
In this scheme, attackers intentionally transfer money to your account, and then call or write, posing as senders, and demand that the amount be refunded to a third party’s account. The purpose of scammers is to frame you up and use your account to cash out or transfer other people’s funds, often obtained by criminal means. At the same time, they may exert psychological pressure, threaten to sue, or refer to urgent needs, such as the treatment of a child. Even if you act “in good faith”, you become an accomplice to illegal operations.

To protect yourself:

• Refrain from making transfers to third-party accounts
• Contact the Bank to clarify the refund procedure and, if required, contact the outlet or law enforcement agencies.

Fraudulent schemes related to the purchase of cars and investments in projects with the promise of high profits have also been recorded recently. A scheme for buying “cheap” cars from South Korea with full prepayment was revealed in Astana, where the victims lost large sums.

And in Almaty, the organizer of a financial pyramid scheme was convicted, promising income from watching trailers. Social networks and messengers were used to promote this scheme. The scammers created chats, conducted training, distributed instructions and videos, promising rapid income growth and rewards in the USDT cryptocurrency.

These cases emphasize the need for care in any financial transactions and investments. Eurasian Bank reminds that any legal transactions are always accompanied by transparent documentation, and dubious offers with high income in a short time are most often fraudulent.
