Amendments to the Resolution of the Management Board of the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated 30 March 2019 No. 40 “On Approval of the Rules for Currency Transactions in the Republic of Kazakhstan” come into force on 14 March 2025*.

According to the amendments to foreign exchange transactions, the conduct of which may be aimed at evading the requirements of the currency legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, including transactions of a non-resident (legal entity/individual) for the purchase of non-cash foreign currency in one authorized bank on one business day for the national currency in an amount exceeding fifty thousand US Dollars in equivalent, if the source of the money in the national currency is not related to the receipt by a non-resident of money from sale of goods (performance of works, provision of services) to a resident, sale of other financial assets for the national currency, receipt of dividends in the national currency from activities within the Republic of Kazakhstan, refund by state revenue authorities of taxes previously transferred by the non-resident and other mandatory payments to the budget, and other economically justified sources of origin of the national currency.

In order for Eurasian Bank to comply with the above-mentioned requirements of the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, from 14 March 2025:

1. non-resident legal entities of the Republic of Kazakhstan must contact the servicing manager to purchase non-cash foreign currency in the Bank for the national currency (tenge) (these operations are not be available in the Smart Business remote banking system);

2. non-resident individuals of the Republic of Kazakhstan, when conducting non-cash exchange transactions from the national currency (tenge) to another foreign currency at the Bank Outlets (regardless of a transaction amount), must provide the Bank employee with documents confirming the source of origin of the national currency (tenge).

As supporting documents, non-resident customers of the Republic of Kazakhstan may provide the Bank with the following documents, not limited to the below-mentioned ones, related to the origin of the national currency (tenge):

• from sale of goods (performance of works, provision of services) to a resident;
• sales of other financial assets for the national currency (tenge);
• receipt of dividends in the national currency (tenge) from activities within the Republic of Kazakhstan;
• refund by the state revenue authorities of taxes and other mandatory payments previously transferred by a non-resident to the budget;
• other economically justified sources of origin of the national currency (tenge).
