Eurasian Bank JSC (hereinafter – the Bank) paid a guarantee compensation to the Bank of Astana customers in the amount of about KZT 35.2 billion, which is 93.7% of the total amount of liabilities to the Bank of Astana depositors in KZT 37.5 billion. The average time for servicing one depositor was from 5 to 15 minutes. Payments began on 26 January 2019, during which time Eurasian Bank served 41,866 Bank of Astana customers. In addition, 3,211 customers chose the option to order a payment card – these customers were credited with about 2.1 billion tenge.
Due to a significant decrease in the flow of Bank of Astana customers, Eurasian Bank closed 9 special payment centers to Bank of Astana depositors in major cities of Kazakhstan. Payment of compensation will last until 26 July 2019 in all Eurasian Bank outlets servicing individuals, according to the working hours of the outlets.

Compensation is paid from the funds of the Kazakhstan Deposit Insurance Fund – by deposits, current accounts and payment cards of the Bank of Astana customers, taking into account the interest accrued. After 26 July, depositors who have not contacted the agent bank outlets may apply for the compensation payment directly to the Kazakhstan Deposit Insurance Fund and receive compensation by non-cash transfer.
