Eurasian Bank informs that Eurasian Financial Company JSC, the sole shareholder of the Bank, has contributed to the Bank’s capital 4,000,002,436.40 tenge, fulfilling its obligations under the program on financial sustainability enhancement and risk reduction of the banking sector of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The increase in capital was performed in a larger volume than previously envisaged by the Bank’s shareholder based on the results of the independent asset quality review (AQR) of the banking sector in February 2020.
The Bank was capitalized on 16 April through the acquisition of 612,314 ordinary declared shares of the Bank by Eurasian Financial Company JSC under a preemptive right. The transaction and the procedure for the placement of shares were approved by the Board of Directors of the Bank on 27 March and 10 April 2020.
Shukhrat Ibragimov, a Member of the Board of Directors of Eurasian Bank commented on the transaction, “In the face of global uncertainty, worsening forecasts for the development of the global economy and the COVID-19 pandemic, additional Bank capitalization allows us to increase the Bank’s safety margin and provide more opportunities to support our customers”.
After completion of the transaction, the composition of shareholders – holders of ordinary shares – is as follows:
