Almaty, 20 March 2023
Eurasian Bank received 10.5 billion tenge from the Kazakhstan Deposit Insurance Fund to pay all customers a 10% state premium on tenge deposits.
In total, about 98% of depositors in the Bank applied for compensation. Payments were made the very next day after the funds were received — on 17 March.
“The Bank digitized the process of submitting applications for compensation payments: customers could do this through the Smartbank mobile app and its desktop version, which greatly simplified the process. Also technologically, within one day, the state premium was received to the individual current accounts, the amount of which each client can see again in Smartbank and dispose of it at his/her discretion, including full withdrawal for no fee,” said Ms. Lyazzat Satiyeva, CEO of Eurasian Bank.
It is worth noting that since 15 March 2023, the Bank automatically increased the rates on Turbo Deposit and Turbo Deposit Saving tenge deposits for all customers to the maximum values currently valid in the Bank.
In addition, as part of the Loyalty Promotion, it increases the bonus accrual rates on deposit balances. For debit card holders of the Bank with a deposit balance from 1, 500, 000 to 7, 000, 000 tenge, 2.5% of a purchase amount is accrued, over 7, 000, 000 tenge — 5%.
