For 26-27 January 62% of obligatiosn to the Bank of Astana depositors are paid

According to the results of the Bank of Astana compensation payments, for the first two days, 26 and 27 January, the bank-agent Eurasian Bank has already paid out 23.1 billion tenge, which is 62% of the total compensation amount of 37.5 billion tenge. For 26 and January, 18,925 Bank of Astana depositors visited the Eurasian Bank outlets.

To organize the flow of the Bank of Astana depositors into the outlets and to reduce the possible excitement, Eurasian Bank held a number of preparatory events.

  1. In order to serve the expectedly large flow of customers, Eurasian Bank opened all of its outlets serving individuals for the Bank of Astana depositors on the weekend of 26 and 27 January, and in addition strengthened large cities by opening the payment centers.
  2. 2. The Bank of Astana customers were sent SMS-s with a recommendation to visit the Bank outlet on a specific day at a specific address. Customers with the compensation amount of less than 1,000 tenge were also notified in advance, so that they would not schedule a visit to the outlet in the first days of the start of payments.

  3. Customers who were afraid of queues were offered the opportunity to order a payment card online, with courier delivery, and get a compensation to this card.
  4. The online service for checking the compensation amount by IIN at eubank.kz was launched, so that the customers could check the information in advance.
  5. The customers had the opportunity to view information about queues in outlets throughout Kazakhstan at eubank.kz.
  6. In the first days of payments, all outlets managers, loan managers from points of sales (home appliances shops, furniture stores, car dealers, etc.) and the front office were involved.

For 26-27 January, 18,925 Bank of Astana depositors visited Eurasian Bank. All of the applications received have been accepted, and 18,875 depositors who have submitted applications have already received the compensation.

Almaty, Astana and Shymkent accounted for 56% of appeals. Rush and queues were observed in the morning of Saturday, 26 January, – all current issues were settled in a standard order. There were no queues at the Bank outlets in the afternoon of Saturday and Sunday.

From January 28, all Eurasian Bank outlets operate within standard hours, therefore for convenience of depositors in large cities, the Bank recommends contacting special payment centers that serve only the Bank of Astana depositors according to the extended schedule. Payment of compensation will last the next six months – until 26 July and will be held in all Eurasian Bank outlets, serving individuals.

Most of the specially created centers for the compensation payment only the Bank of Astana customers in Almaty, Astana, Shymkent, Aktau, Karaganda, Pavlodar and Atyrau will operate according to the extended schedule from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. until the end of payments. The Bank of Astana depositors may submit applications on any day.

At eubank.kz, the Eurasian Bank website, the Bank of Astana depositors can view the number of customers waiting in line online, and to learn about the payment amount in advance, before visiting the outlet.

After 26 July, 2019, the Bank of Astana depositors, who did not visit the Eurasian Bank outlets, can submit applications for the compensation payment directly to the Kazakhstan Deposit Insurance Fund and receive the compensation by bank transfer.
